Ingredients

  • 2 cups 2 Whole wheat flour

  • 1 cup 1 Rolled oats

  • 1 tblsp 1 Dried parsley flakes (or 2 tbs fresh chopped parsley)

  • 2 ea 2 Large eggs

  • 1/2 cup 1/2 Water

  • 1/2 cup 1/2 Non fat dry milk

  • 1 cup 1 Peanut Butter (use a limited ingredient brand with NO artificial sweeteners or Xylitol)

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 300*
  • In a large bowl, whick together all of the dry ingredients
  • In a smaller bowl, beat the eggs lightly. Add water and peanut butter.
  • Gently combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients.
  • Knead with your hands until you have a smooth ball of dough. Add a little water if dough is too dry as needed. You can also use a mixer for faster results.
  • Roll the dough to flatten. Use a cookie cutter to cut into shapes. Or pull off into 1″ pieces and press flat to create cookies slightly larger than a quarter.
  • Use parchment paper or a non stick cookie sheet and place cut pieces on sheet.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown. For softer treats – preferred by senior dogs – bake for 5-10 less minutes.

Notes

  • Alway check ingredients on the products you use to ensure there is NEVER any artificial sweetener – like Xylitol – used. Xylitol is extremely toxic to dogs and can be fatal if ingested.
